On properties backing onto open space, the exposure influences infill: a solid panel for privacy and to manage wind, or an open pattern to keep the view, with the frame beefed up for the added surface area either way.

Built for triple-digit heat and wet winters
Summers in Rescue routinely climb into the triple digits, and that heat is hard on the operator's electronics — it accelerates battery degradation and can shorten the life of control-board components, so ventilation and a properly sized operator matter. Persistent sun bakes powder coat toward premature fade and chalking, which then exposes the metal underneath if it isn't maintained. Wet winters, with heavy rain and occasional frost, push moisture into weld joints and hinge bearings, and dry-season dust settles into enclosures and onto photo-eye lenses. We build against it: UV-resistant finishes, galvanizing where a gate sees regular wet, sealed greasable bearings, and heavier-gauge steel where the gate's weight and the site demand it.

My driveway curves near the entry — swing or slide?
A curve or a tight frontage often rules out a clean swing arc, in which case a cantilever slide or an articulated-arm operator keeps the gate clear of the road. Where the approach straightens and levels out, a swing with room to clear is a fine option. We settle it on site.
Does the summer heat hurt the operator?
It can — triple-digit heat is hard on batteries and control boards. We use a properly ventilated enclosure and size the operator for the gate's real weight and cycle count so it isn't straining, which keeps the electronics running cooler and longer.
Can you build to my existing stone columns?
Yes. We measure the true spacing and hinge or track positions and fabricate the gate to fit, rather than forcing a stock size between columns that are often a little off from plan. That's the advantage of building in-house.
I back onto open space — solid gate or open?
Either works. A solid panel gives privacy and helps with wind; an open pattern keeps your view and airflow. Whichever you choose, we size the frame and hardware for the surface area so it stays stable in a foothill breeze.
