My driveway is sloped — will a swing gate bind?
Not if the hinge pivot style is chosen for the grade. We set the pivots so the leaf clears the rising ground, and we keep the gate's weight in mind so we don't overstress the operator on a slope. Where the grade is too much for a swing, a cantilever slide sidesteps it. We confirm on site.
Can you build to my existing stone columns?
Yes. We measure the true spacing and hinge or track positions and fabricate the gate to fit, so it drops cleanly into the entrance you already have rather than forcing a stock size between the pillars.
Does a windy, sun-exposed lot change the material?
It can. Constant UV and wind loading favor certain finishes and infill over others, so we pick materials that hold up to the exposure your lot sees — a durable clad or composite panel over raw wood, for instance, on a sun-baked ridge.
Will the gate open in a power outage?
When it's specced with battery backup, which we recommend in the foothills. Automated gates use UL 325-listed operators with the required monitored entrapment-protection devices, and the backup keeps the gate cycling when the grid is down.
