My lot is elevated and windy — does that change the gate?
It changes the structure. A solid panel on an exposed lot catches wind, so we spec heavier gauge and robust hinges so it doesn't rack over time. If you'd prefer a lighter wind load, an open pattern helps; either way we size the frame for the exposure.
I have deep setback — can I have a swing gate?
Typically yes — a deep setback is exactly what a swing wants. The exceptions are a tight curve or a steep grade right at the entry, where a slide avoids ground-clearance trouble. We confirm on site which your approach favors.
Will a wood-clad gate hold up to the winters?
With proper sealing and the right panel, yes. Unsealed inserts swell and delaminate in prolonged wet, so we use clad or composite panels engineered for the exposure over a steel frame and finish them to keep water out.
Does rural dust really wear the gate?
On some lots it does — dust off unpaved roads and DG ground where present works into bearings and gearboxes. Sealed, greasable hardware and an operator sized for the duty keep it in check, along with a light maintenance routine.
