Custom Uphill Dual Swing Gate & Smart Access Control Installation

DC Controls recently completed a custom dual swing driveway gate project, creating a secure, elegant, and highly functional entrance tailored to the property’s unique layout and elevation changes. This project combined custom fabrication, gate automation, access control, masonry features, and perimeter fencing to deliver a complete turnkey entry solution.

The centerpiece of the installation is a custom-fabricated dual swing gate featuring a modern architectural design that seamlessly integrates both gate leaves into a single cohesive appearance when closed. The clean lines and contemporary styling create a striking focal point while enhancing both security and curb appeal.

Due to the property’s sloped driveway, the gate system was specifically engineered as an uphill swing gate, allowing the gate leaves to operate smoothly and safely while accommodating the changing grade. This specialized design ensures reliable performance without compromising functionality or aesthetics.

To frame the entrance, custom rock-clad masonry pillars were constructed, creating a substantial and attractive entryway. An additional pedestal column was installed near the entrance to house the access control equipment, providing convenient and professional placement of the entry system.

For visitor management and remote access control, DC Controls installed a DoorBird D1101KH video intercom keypad system. This smart access solution allows the property owner to view and communicate with visitors, grant access remotely, manage user permissions, review activity, and maintain full control of the gate system directly from a smartphone or connected device.

Gate automation is powered by LiftMaster CSW24 commercial swing gate operators, delivering dependable performance and smooth operation for the dual swing gate system. The installation also included all required monitored safety devices and entrapment protection equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with current industry safety standards.

To further enhance functionality, vehicle detection loops were installed prior to the concrete driveway pour, allowing for seamless vehicle exit detection and future-ready integration with the automated gate system. The project was completed with matching perimeter fencing and a custom pedestrian access gate, creating a cohesive appearance while providing secure and convenient access throughout the property.
